Tegan and I are moving to Melbourne!

I have gotten a job with the Graduate Program at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations - and it is in Melbourne!

The job starts on February 12, but I will be down in Melbourne early Feb, and Tegan will come down late Feb!

U2 - Last Concert in Australia

After Perth I flew to Melbourne for the last U2 concert in Australia. I got off the plane and went straight to the queue outside Telstra Dome, where Dave, Danny, Tracy and their freinds were already waiting. Again I was right near the front and got to get the same spot as Brisbane.

But this concert was better than Brisbane for a couple of reasons:

Bono showered us with Champagne after playing "Party Girl":















Then they played my favourite U2 song - "Bad"

I started going crazy, jumping up and down.

Then the security guard who had picked up the cork from the champagne came towards me, and I thought he was going to tell me off, but he held out his hand and handed me the cork!!!!




















A perfect end to a totally awesome night/fortnight!!!!

Next weekend: Ashes at the GABBA!!!

World Ultimate Club Championships

The day after the U2 concert I flew to Perth for the World Ultimate Club Championships, where 90 teams from around the world came to play frisbee for a week.

Our team Bootius Maximus were the highest seeded Australian mixed team at number 6. During the tournament we came up against some tough teams - the 3 teams we lost to ended up 1,2 and 4 for the tournament!

Unfortunately we got knocked out of the round of 16 so didn't achieve our goal of making the quarter finals, but after that we went on to win every game to finish 9th.

As always I got a special haircut for the tournament - this time I went for "The Mane":











After the last game I got given a rock by the Chad Larson Experience which they had found several years earlier in the field at their National championships and had carried with them ever since!

U2 - First Concert in Australia

November 7th. 5:00am. Spud, Dave and I start lining up for the first U2 concert in Australia since 1998. We are 15th in line. 12 hours later we are let into the stadium and have to run to the stage in order to get our front row position - right in front of where The Edge stands!

Was it worth the wait? Damn straight!!!!

When you're that close they look you in the eyes and say Hi!

One Year Anniversary

The earth has rotated 365 times since Uni Games 2005 where Tegan and I first got together!

We have spent a few days in Oslo, where we have caught up with some of my cousins, Aunty Lee and Zayda. It has been suprisingly sunny and hot!
